75 Years of Service, Reimagined

2026

For its 75th anniversary, Sorenson’s Appliance wanted to celebrate a milestone that represented more than longevity. Since 1951, the family-owned business has built its reputation through generations of service, trust, and a lasting connection to its community.

The anniversary identity was designed to honor that history while giving Sorenson’s a distinctive visual system for its 75th year. Rather than creating a standalone anniversary graphic, the goal was to develop a collection of custom lockups that felt as though they could have belonged to the brand for decades.

Inspired by the Archives

The visual direction draws from the character of mid-century local businesses, vintage appliance advertising, storefront signage, maker’s marks, and commemorative seals. Archival photography of Sorenson’s provided an additional layer of inspiration, grounding the identity in the company’s actual history rather than creating a manufactured sense of nostalgia.

A restrained burgundy, warm gold, and cream palette reinforces the heritage influence while keeping the system elevated and contemporary.

A Flexible Anniversary System

Rather than relying on a single anniversary logo, I developed a family of complementary marks that could adapt across different applications. The system includes a commemorative seal, standalone monogram, 75-year badge, wordmarks, and storefront lockups, allowing the anniversary identity to shift between subtle brand moments and more prominent celebratory applications.

The result is an anniversary identity that looks backward without feeling stuck in the past, celebrating where Sorenson’s Appliance began while creating a visual language worthy of its next chapter.
